Terms and Conditions
The rules that apply when you book a seat or buy a course from RIRS.
These terms cover everything you book or buy through this website — a seat on a training batch, a batch arranged for your organisation, or an online course. Booking a seat means you accept them. They sit alongside our Privacy Policy and our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which form part of the same agreement.
Who you are dealing with
RIRS — the Resurgence Institute of Resuscitation Sciences — is a partnership firm carrying on resuscitation training at Navodoy Path, Hengerabari, Near Kali Mandir, Dispur, Guwahati 781006, Assam. You can reach us at info@rirs.in or (+91) 60012 72417.
Booking a seat
Seats on every batch are limited and are filled in the order bookings arrive. Booking through this site does not by itself reserve a seat. The seat is yours when we send you a confirmation email.
The two ways to pay
Pay by card, netbanking or UPI through our payment gateway and your payment is verified immediately. Or transfer the fee directly by UPI or bank transfer and enter the reference number on the page that follows; we hold your seat for 48 hours while we check the transfer against our bank statement.
A reference number is a claim that a transfer was made, not proof that it arrived. We confirm nothing until we have seen the money.
If a transfer does not arrive
If we cannot match your transfer within the 48 hours we hold the seat, the seat goes back to the batch and we tell you. Nothing is charged.
Fees
Fees are shown in Indian Rupees and are the full amount payable for that batch unless the batch page says otherwise. RIRS is not registered for GST, so no tax is added at checkout and the fee you see is the fee you pay. Where a fee includes course books or a certificate, the batch page says so. We may change the fee for future batches at any time; the fee shown when you booked is the fee you pay.
Cancellations, transfers and refunds
These are set out in full in our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: once we have confirmed your seat the fee is not refundable, if we cancel a batch you are refunded in full, and if we reschedule one your seat moves with it.
On the day
Report at the time given on the batch page. Training is hands-on and runs to a schedule, so arriving late may mean you cannot be assessed, and no refund is due in that case. Follow the faculty’s instructions on the use of manikins, AEDs and other equipment. We may ask anyone to leave who behaves in a way that puts other participants or the equipment at risk, and no refund is due.
Certification
BCLS and CCLS are certified by the Indian Resuscitation Council Federation. COLS is certified by RIRS. Certificates are valid for two years from the date of the batch.
A certificate is awarded on assessment, not on attendance. Attending a batch does not guarantee that you will be certified.
What the training is, and what it is not
Our courses teach recognised resuscitation protocols and are meant to build practical skill. They are training, not medical advice. Nothing taught on a course or published on this site is a substitute for clinical judgement or for the protocols of the institution you work in. A certificate records that you were assessed against a standard on a date; it does not authorise you to act beyond the scope of your own qualifications, licence or employer’s policy.
Photographs taken at a batch
We photograph batches and publish some of those photographs on this site and on our social media, to show how the training is run. If you would rather not appear, tell the faculty at the start of the day or write to info@rirs.in, and we will keep you out of what we publish, or remove a photograph already published.
Online courses
An online course is for the person who bought it. Do not share your login, and do not copy, record or redistribute the material. We may withdraw access to a course that is shared.
Batches run for an organisation
Where we run a batch for a hospital, college or company, the arrangements — dates, numbers, fee and venue — are agreed separately in writing with that organisation, and those arrangements take precedence over these terms where the two differ.
Our materials
Everything on this site and in our course material — text, photographs, slides and handouts — belongs to RIRS or is used with permission. You may use it for your own learning. You may not republish or sell it.
Where our responsibility ends
We take reasonable care in running our training and this website. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for anything outside our reasonable control, or for the acts of a venue we do not own. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page when you book is the one that applies to that booking, and the date below tells you when it last changed.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of India. The courts at Guwahati, Assam have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
